Testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) verifies that airflow and water flow through a building's HVAC equipment match the design values on the mechanical drawings, while commissioning verifies that the entire building system, controls, sequences, and equipment together, performs the way the owner's project requirements describe across every mode it will ever operate in. What Falls Under TAB Alone?

When Does a Project Need Both?

Any project where the mechanical system includes controls sequences beyond simple on/off operation needs both.
